About The Program

In August 2018, 525 Foundation introduced the Drop 2 Stop program to the Northern Indiana community. Drop 2 Stop features specially designed, secure boxes that allow people to properly dispose of expired or unneeded drugs anytime designated Martin's Super Markets stores are open. Funded by 525 Foundation and Martin's, the number "2" in Drop 2 Stop represents the two lives the Savage family lost due to opioid misuse and abuse. Since it's inception, the program has grown throughout the State of Indiana as well as South West Michigan and looking to expand to other states. We currently have 26 boxes permanently placed within Police Departments, Hospitals, Health Care Clinics, and Pharmacies.

St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department

“I wholeheartedly support the mission of the 525 Foundation and their dedication of making our community drug free and safe. I encourage all Police Departments to look into a 525 Foundation Drop 2 Stop prescription disposal box for their department. Adding this program to our department has been a blessing for our community. It's a safe and convenient option for members of the community to dispose of their unused or unwanted prescription medications.”  - Sheriff William Redman

“The Drop 2 Stop boxes are a huge benefit to the community.  Typically, health systems are focused on prescribing and dispensing medications and can often lose sight of the need for retrieving and disposing of unused and unwanted medications in a safe manner.  Partnering with the 525 Foundation has provided a great opportunity to offer the community a safe and easy method to dispose of medications, that would otherwise linger in peoples’ homes.  The medications collected in the Drop 2 Stop boxes represent the prevention of a possible accidental overdose or death, and they raise awareness of the need to routinely clean out our medicine cabinets.”
